A 33-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a serious stabbing incident in Chatham on Monday evening.

Kent Police were alerted to the incident at around 8:06 PM on October 28th, 2024, after receiving a call from South East Coast Ambulance Service. The victim, a man in his 30s, was found injured in the High Street near the junction with Rhode Street. He sustained multiple stab wounds and was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he remains in serious but stable condition.

Following a swift investigation, police apprehended a suspect in Gillingham later that evening. A 33-year-old man from Maidstone, was charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife in a public place. He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, October 30th, and was remanded in custody.
