Kent Police has reported that two prolific shop thieves attempted to return stolen items to the shelves after they were caught in the act by officers in Swanley.
Jessica Cook and Frankie Schock are now facing sentencing after repeatedly targeting an Asda service station in the High Street. The pair entered the store twice, on 24 October 2024 and on the following day, stealing hundreds of pounds of grocery items.
In the previous month, acting alone, Schock also carried out a further theft at the same premises. Their crime spree came to end on 25 October, after a passing patrol was alerted to suspicious activity by staff. When officers approached the women they were seen trying to remove stolen washing-up liquid and detergent from two rucksacks and place them back on the shelves.
Cook, 46, and Schock, 37, both from Orpington were charged with multiple thefts. On 28 October, they both pleaded guilty at Medway Magistrates’ Court. They are currently bailed with conditions and will be sentenced on 2 December at Bexley Magistrates’ Court.
