Weapons including a slingshot have been seized by officers on patrol in Dover at Hallowe’en.
During the evening of Thursday 31 October 2024, local officers were on patrol in the town when they found a parked car in Buckland Avenue, which had been driven in a suspicious manner a short time earlier.
Enquiries in the area led to police stopping and speaking to a man in Cherry Tree Avenue. A substance suspected to be cocaine was seized and a search of the vehicle resulted in officers seizing a knife, slingshot and razor blades. A 41-year-old man from Deal was arrested on suspicion of possessing class A drugs, possessing a knife and an offensive weapon, and also arrested in connection with driving offences. He was released on bail pending further enquiries.
