Folkestone and Hythe Council offers financial lifeline to struggling residents

Local residents facing financial hardship can now access much-needed support thanks to a new fund. The Household Support Fund, provided by the government, is being distributed by Folkestone & Hythe District Council to help those in need.

If you’re a resident on a low income or receiving council tax reduction, you may be eligible for a one-off food voucher. These vouchers can be used at a variety of supermarkets and online, providing a welcome boost during these challenging times.

Cllr Tim Prater, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Finance and Governance, said:

“We understand that the winter months can be particularly tough for many people. This fund is designed to help alleviate some of the financial pressure and ensure that no one goes hungry or cold.”

To apply for the Household Support Fund, please visit the council’s website. Spaces are limited, so don’t delay! The council is also working closely with Kent County Council and other community partners to provide additional support.
