Proactive work by police in Ashford has led to the seizure of cash and cannabis suspected to be linked to organised crime.
Beat officers were working in the Stanhope area on Saturday 16 November 2024 when they spotted a vehicle which had previously been linked to drug dealing. The vehicle was tracked to a nearby address and officers arrested three men seen exiting the property on suspicion of drugs offences.
Searches of the property and the men led to the seizure of a significant amount of cannabis and cash, as well as phones and the car linked to the investigation. The three men, who are aged between 24 and 34, have been released on bail while enquiries into the seized items continue.
Inspector Richard Batten said:
‘Kent Police is committed to stamping out organised crime and drugs networks, and beat officers are always on the lookout for suspicious behaviour and activity.
‘I urge anyone who suspects drugs may be being produced or sold in their area to contact us. It will build up our intelligence picture so we can take action like this.’
