A Whitstable man who attempted to import cannabis from the USA has been jailed following a Kent Police investigation after a package containing nearly 300g of the drug was intercepted by Border Force officers on 16 May 2022.
It led to police carrying out a warrant at a property in Whitstable, where Felix Boo was arrested on suspicion of drugs offences. A search of his bedroom and a garden shed he used uncovered further drugs, including ketamine and cocaine, along with more than £40,000 in cash and two £10,000 Rolex watches.
Analysis of Boo’s phone then led to the discovery of hundreds of messages relating to drug deals in the local area and financial checks showed he had also been converting large amounts of money into cryptocurrency.
Boo was charged with and admitted possession of class A and class B drugs with intent to supply, importation of class B drugs and concealing or transferring criminal property. The 24 year old was sentenced to three years at Canterbury Crown Court on 21 November 2024.
Investigating officer Hannah Macrow said:
‘The sale of illegal drugs all too often leads to further crime, antisocial behaviour and misery for communities to deal with.
‘I hope the sentence imposed on this man sends out a message to other drug dealers that police will catch up with them and jail awaits.’
