A man has been arrested in connection with a series of knifepoint robberies in Gillingham town centre. The incidents occurred on Monday, November 25, 2024, when a man allegedly threatened staff at three businesses on Canterbury Street, Green Street, and the High Street. Cash was stolen from two of the locations.
Following a prompt police response, a suspect was held at a local address, and a knife was recovered.
The 30-year-old man, who has no fixed address, has been charged with two counts of robbery, one count of attempted robbery, and two counts of possessing a bladed article in a public place. He was remanded in custody and appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, November 26.
