A 30-year-old man has been charged with theft after allegedly stealing over £300 worth of goods from two Maidstone town centre stores.

Kent Police responded to a report of a theft from Poundland on Week Street at 8:55 AM on Tuesday, November 26th, 2024. A suspect is accused of taking over £30 worth of washing items and leaving without paying. Later that day, at approximately 4:30 PM,  a man matching the same description is alleged to have stolen frozen products from the Food Warehouse on London Road.

The man, of no fixed address, was arrested on November 28th and subsequently charged with theft. He has been released on bail and is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on January 25th, 2025.
