Kent Police has made a fourth arrest in connection with a fire that broke out in Canterbury city centre on Monday, December 2nd.

Emergency services were called at approximately 8:45 pm to respond to the blaze at the former Debenhams store. Local roads were closed, and nearby residents were evacuated as firefighters worked to extinguish the flames.

A 16-year-old boy from Canterbury was arrested on Friday, December 6th, on suspicion of arson and has since been released on bail pending further investigation. In previous days a 12-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy, both arrested on suspicion of arson, were released on bail. A 15-year-old boy from Ashford, who was also arrested on suspicion of arson, has been released without charge.

Kent Police continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fire and urges anyone with information to come forward.
