Kent Police was called shortly after 10pm on Monday 9 December 2024 to a report that a body had been found near Queenborough Harbour on the Isle of Sheppey.
Officers, along with South East Coast Ambulance Service, Kent Fire and Rescue Service and HM Coastguard attended the scene, where a woman was confirmed deceased.
Formal identification has yet to take place, but the family of a 51-year-old woman who was reported missing in the area on Monday 9 December have been informed.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
