The A2 is currently closed westbound between the A2050 and the A28 near Canterbury due to a police led incident which is reported could continue until 3.00pm this afternoon.
Emergency services including Kent Police are on the scene together with National Highways Traffic Officers who are assisting with traffic management.
Road users are advised to follow the solid square diversion symbol:
- Exit the A2 onto the A2050 (Dover Rd) towards Canterbury.
- Continue on A2050 until the junction with Upper Chantry Ln/merges with the A257. A257
- Continue to the junction with the A28 roundabout at Upper Bridge Street.
- Exit onto the A28 Canterbury Ring Rd and remain on this until the junction with the Wincheap roundabout.
- At this roundabout continue straight on into the A290 until the junction with St Peters Place and continue onto the A2050 towards the A2 at Harbledown.
