Hunt for thief who stole car in Tonbridge after remains are found in scrapyard!

CCTV images have been released of a man who may be able to assist officers with their enquiries into a vehicle reported stolen from Tonbridge.

Kent Police received a report of a blue Ford Fiesta having been stolen from an address in Windmill Hill. It is alleged the incident occurred between 10pm on 6 September and 9.30am on 7 September 2024. The car was found the next day at a local scrapyard.

Police Sergeant Rachel Manley, said:

‘Following initial enquiries and a thorough review of available CCTV, officers have explored potential identities and locations of a suspect. 

‘We continue to work alongside the victim to seek justice for the reported theft and subsequent destruction of their vehicle and are now able to release an image of a man who may be able to help with our investigation.’

Anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV images is asked to call the west Kent appeals line on 01622 604100, quoting reference 46/152518/24. Local residents with private CCTV or drivers with dashcam who may have been travelling in the area at the time of the incident are also asked to check for relevant footage.
