Serious assault in Westerham – Police seek witnesses

Detectives investigating a serious assault in Westerham are renewing their appeal for witnesses after a man sustained a serious head injury.

The incident occurred late on Friday, December 20th, near the High Street. It is believed that an altercation between two groups began in Market Square before escalating to violence on Fullers Hill, next to the Westerham Club. At approximately 11:50 PM, the victim, a man in his 20s, was reportedly punched, causing serious head injuries. He was subsequently transported to a London hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Five men have been arrested in connection with the incident, but detectives are still seeking information from any potential witnesses.

Investigators are particularly interested in speaking with a group of individuals who were observed standing near a pedestrian crossing before the assault occurred. This group then proceeded towards the scene of the altercation.

Investigators are also urging residents and businesses, as well as drivers who may have been in the area, to check for any important CCTV and dashcam footage.
