Gillingham Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed outside a shop in the High Street on Friday evening.

The incident took place shortly after 8:40 PM on December 27th, when the victim parked his car near the junction with Canterbury Street. When he left the vehicle, he was allegedly assaulted by an unknown male suspect who was accompanied by a woman.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment of a chest injury. He has since been released.

A 17-year-old Gillingham resident was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on bail with conditions pending further investigation.
