It’s been reported that at 8.45pm on Thursday 19 December 2024, a man, who was in Military Road near the Ramsgate harbour, was told to empty his pockets by the occupants of a silver VW car. The victim refused and got into his own vehicle and drove away.
The victim’s vehicle was then reportedly pursued by the silver VW to Margate. During which the victim’s car window was damaged. He was able to drive to Margate police station to seek safety.
It’s reported the offenders then drove away but as part of the investigation into the attempted robbery, police recovered the suspects’ vehicle and arrested a 20-year-old man from Margate on Sunday 29 December. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who might have seen or heard anything in the harbour area of Ramsgate, or witnessed the two vehicles in Bromstone Road in Broadstairs, Connaught Road in Margate or St Peter’s Road in Margate.
