Busy weekend for Kent Fire and Rescue – News in Brief – (NIBS)

Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to two separate incidents in the east of the county over the weekend.

Car Crash in Sturry:

On Saturday morning, three fire engines were dispatched to a single-vehicle collision on Herne Bay Road in Sturry, Canterbury. Firefighters used hydraulic equipment, including the “jaws of life,” to rescue a trapped occupant. The individual was then placed on a spinal board and transferred to the care of paramedics.

Bus Fire in Eastry:

On Friday morning, four fire engines attended a bus fire in Eastry. Crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the flames using main jets. There were no reported injuries.
