Maidstone man, Dougie Frankham, 38, repeatedly breached a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) issued in February 2022, which restricted his access to only three specific retailers. Between April and August 2024, Frankham was caught on camera and identified by staff stealing alcohol and groceries from stores including Co-op and Lidl, all in direct violation of his CBO.
Following his arrest on August 13th, Frankham pleaded guilty to multiple counts of shoplifting and CBO breaches. He was sentenced to nearly 14 months in prison at Maidstone Crown Court on January 10th.
Chief Inspector Steve Kent said:
‘Frankham is a prolific and unrepentant offender who appears incapable of changing his ways. Shoplifting is never a victimless crime and the actions of relentless thieves like him ultimately lead to law abiding customers paying higher prices, and shop staff feeling unsafe and anxious.
‘We welcome this prison sentence and remain determined to protect our local businesses and bring criminals like Frankham before the courts and ensure they are held accountable for their actions.’
