Dartford shoplifters beware! Local cops are cracking down on those who think they can get away with stealing from our community.

In a recent sting operation, officers worked hand-in-hand with vigilant employees at the Co-op in Oldfield Place. Over a two-week period, three separate incidents of brazen shoplifting were reported, with thieves making off with a haul of groceries and sweet treats worth over £100.

But these crafty criminals underestimated the determination of local constables and after meticulously reviewing CCTV footage and conducting a thorough investigation, officers were hot on the trail of the suspected thief.

On Monday, the net tightened and a suspect was apprehended in Holly Road and swiftly arrested. A 40-year-old man of no fixed address, now faces charges for three counts of theft and three counts of breaching his criminal behaviour order. He was remanded in custody and brought before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
