Fire crews battled a major house fire in Aldington, Ashford, early this morning, with six fire engines, a height vehicle, and a bulk water carrier deployed to the scene.

The alarm was raised at 2:15 am, and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus quickly brought the blaze under control using high-powered hoses. The fire is now extinguished, but crews remain on scene to dampen down hot spots and ensure the area is safe.

While there were no reported injuries the house sustained significant damage. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Drivers are advised to avoid the area around Bank Road, Aldington, as crews continue to work at the scene.
