Detectives have charged a suspect following a report of an armed robbery at a shop in Dartford. On Sunday 12 January 2025, a man entered the premises in Victoria Road, walked to the wine fridge and picked up three bottles of wine.
It is alleged the man tried to leave the store but was confronted by an employee who was then assaulted. It is further reported the member of staff was threatened with a handgun before the suspect left the store.
An investigation into the incident included forensic examinations and the review of CCTV footage. On Thursday 16 January, an officer spotted a suspect in the town and patrols attended an address where a man was arrested. The constables also seized a BB gun.
A Dartford man , was later charged with robbery and possession of an imitation firearm with intent. The 44 year old was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 17 January.
