Hare coursing suspect to appear in Folkestone court

A man has been charged in connection with an alleged hare coursing incident in Birchington.

Kent Police responded to reports of suspected poaching at Plum Pudding Island on Saturday morning. Officers located a person in a vehicle parked on a secluded lane and subsequently recovered three deceased hares and a powered telescope.

A 47-year-old man from Canterbury was arrested and charged with offences related to hare coursing. He has been released on bail and is scheduled to appear in Folkestone Magistrates’ Court next month.
