A multi-agency operation in Gravesend on Friday, January 17th, resulted in the seizure of drugs, cash, and multiple unroadworthy vehicles, while also targeting those using cars to commit crimes.

Local police officers joined forces with Gravesham Borough Council Environmental Enforcement and the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency for a coordinated crackdown across the town.

One motorist, displaying suspicious behavior, was stopped and searched. The search yielded a significant quantity of Class A drugs, two mobile phones, and £440 in cash. The driver was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.

Four motorists were issued with traffic offence reports for various violations, including driving without insurance, using a mobile phone while driving, and displaying illegal number plates. Two vehicles were seized due to the drivers lacking insurance.

Three vehicles were deemed to pose a significant risk to other road users and received prohibition notices for offences such as illegal window tints and defective lights. Additionally, a heavy goods vehicle was issued an inspection notice.

This joint operation demonstrates the commitment of local authorities to enhance community safety by tackling both criminal activity and the dangers posed by unroadworthy vehicles. By working together, these agencies aim to make Gravesend’s roads safer for all.
