A high-speed pursuit along the M2 motorway culminated in the arrest of a suspected drug dealer.
On Monday evening, officers spotted a Ford Mustang travelling on the coastbound carriageway that appeared to be uninsured. After attempting to stop the vehicle, the driver allegedly ignored police signals and continued on the motorway before exiting and rejoining in the opposite direction.
The pursuit continued onto the A2 and then the A282 Dartford Crossing, where officers finally brought the vehicle to a stop. The driver was arrested and a subsequent search uncovered a quantity of suspected cocaine and approximately £135 in cash.
The following day, a 33-year-old man from South Tottenham, London, was charged with possession with intent to supply a Class A drug, failing to stop when directed by police, and three other driving offences. He appeared before magistrates and was remanded in custody pending a future court appearance.
