An investigation is underway into a suspected serious assault after a man was located by a member of public, in a confused and distressed state on a footpath in Rusthall.

The incident happened during the evening of Thursday 23 January 2025 in woodland leading from Rusthall Road and near to the cricket pitch. The victim, in his 20s, remains in hospital. His injuries include multiple cuts and a bleed to the brain. They are not believed to be life threatening.

DC Nell Shortis said:

‘We believe the victim was assaulted between 7pm and 8.30pm and are working to establish the full circumstances.

‘It is crucial to our investigation that we speak to anyone who may have walked in this area during this time, or who thinks they may have seen or heard anything suspicious.’
