Three suspected robbers have been charged after a vulnerable man was reportedly targeted in Gillingham.
Kent Police was made aware of the incident in the High Street near its junction with Canterbury Street, shortly after 11pm on Thursday 16 January 2025 in which the victim, who was using a mobility scooter, was approached by a group of people whilst he was outside a shop. It is alleged he was assaulted and a mobile phone, tablet and a quantity of cash were stolen. Officers arrived and carried out initial enquiries.
A police investigation led to the arrest of three men in connection with the incident on Tuesday 28 January and the following day, a man from Rochester, one from Gillingham and a third of no fixed address were each charged with robbery and were remanded to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court later that day.
