Faversham power tools returned: Suspect charged

Stolen power tools have been returned to their owner in Faversham following a swift police response. The tools were allegedly taken from a van parked on Arden Road around 4pm on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.

Just 90 minutes later, Kent Police’s Rural Task Force, working with local officers, responded to a report of suspicious activity on Crescent Road. A man was arrested and, during the arrest, allegedly assaulted an officer. Officers recovered a toolbox and numerous power tools from a nearby wheelie bin.

A 41-year-old man from Chatham, has been charged with two counts of theft and assaulting an emergency worker. He was remanded in custody and appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday, January 31.

While many of the stolen tools have been recovered and returned to the victim, some remain missing. Police are urging anyone in Faversham offered power tools at suspiciously low prices to contact them. Anyone with information should call 01795 419119, quoting reference 46/16512/25.
