Detectives investigating an assault in Canterbury are appealing for witnesses. Five suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident, which reportedly took place at the bus station in St George’s Lane, shortly after 10pm on 28 December 2024.
The victim, a man in his late teens, was approached by a group of people who spoke to him before knocking him to the ground and assaulting him. His mobile phone was also damaged by offenders during the assault. The victim sustained head injuries which required hospital treatment. Two women were also assaulted but did not sustain any injuries.
Officers attended and following a search of the area, arrested five people in connection with the incident. A 17-year-old boy, three boys aged 16 and a 33-year old man were all released on bail until March.
As part of the continuing enquiries into the assault, officers believe there may be a number of potential witnesses who have yet to speak to police.
