St. Clement’s Church in Sandwich beamed the light of faith across the globe, hosting the Church of England’s National Online Service on Sunday, February 2nd!
St Clement’s Church Sandwich was the host of the National Online Service for the Church of England on Sunday 2 February and was viewed by over 400,000 people from around the world to share in the uplifting service, streamed live from this historic location. The service is streamed from the Church of England YouTube channel and Facebook each Sunday from a different location.
The vibrant service, held during Candlemas, was led by Rector Fr. Sebastian Hamilton. His inspiring sermon encouraged reflection on how faith can illuminate even the darkest moments. Candlemas, a time of transition between Christmas and Easter, was beautifully observed through readings and reflections on Jesus as the light of the world.
The service also highlighted the wonderful “Churchyard Rediscovered” project, a local initiative revitalizing the churchyard with new paths and a focus on boosting biodiversity. This inspiring example showcased the church’s commitment to caring for creation, a theme echoed in other projects across the diocese.
