A 37-year-old man has been charged following an incident in Chatham in which a pedestrian was struck by a car.
The incident occurred on Sunday, February 16, 2025, when a man was involved in a collision with a Nissan Note on New Road. As the man got out of his vehicle, the Nissan Note allegedly drove forward, hitting him. The driver of the Nissan Note then left the scene, while the injured man was taken to a hospital for treatment of multiple injuries.
Following an investigation, a suspect was arrested the next day.
The man, of no fixed address, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a collision, driving without a licence, and driving without insurance. He was remanded in custody and appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
