A series of vehicle break-ins in Deal and Sholden has resulted in one arrest and multiple charges. Following reports of vehicle interference between February 8th and 19th, 2025, local officers conducted an investigation leading to an arrest on Thursday, February 20th.

Residents reported thefts from their vehicles, including a headtorch, cash, and computer accessories. The suspect, a 26-year-old man from Deal has been charged in connection with nine reported break-ins, as well as possession of cannabis.

He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Friday, February 21st.

Inspector Mark Sankey praised the community for their assistance and urged continued vigilance.

“We are grateful to all who have provided information regarding vehicle interference in the town and we ask that people report to Kent Police whenever they suspect their car might have been targeted by criminals so our local officers can respond appropriately. By working together, it gives the best chance of bringing offenders before the courts.”
