Detectives investigating a serious assault on the A2 near Canterbury have charged a second suspect.
Emergency services attended following an incident on the London-bound carriageway of the road, near the exit for the A28 at Wincheap, at around 5.40am on Saturday 14 December 2024.
It was reported that the occupants of a car had been assaulted by at least one occupant of another vehicle. Two men were taken to hospital, one of whom had suffered serious injuries for which he continues to receive treatment.
On Tuesday 25 February 2025, a man aged 35, from Plymouth, was arrested and charged with attempted murder, causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, namely an axe and a bat.
He has been remanded and will appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 26 February.
