A tragic collision on the A299 Thanet Way near Saint Nicholas-at-Wade has resulted in the death of a man in his 20s.
The incident occurred at 6:49 PM on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, when a white Fiat Ducato lorry, traveling towards London from Saint Nicholas-at-Wade, collided with a stationary Iveco Daily road sweeper.
Emergency services, including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service, and Kent Fire and Rescue Service, responded but sadly a passenger in the lorry, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
The lorry driver, also a man in his 20s, sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital, where he is currently in a stable condition. The driver of the road sweeper, a man in his 60s, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash. Officers are appealing for any witnesses who have not yet spoken to them to come forward.
