Roll up for FREE after school sports sessions for young people in Dover!

Young people in the district are being invited to a series of fun-packed multi-sport sessions in Dover during March.

The free sessions are being put on by Dover District Council thanks to funding from the Kent Police and Crime Commissioner. They are being run by charity Uprising Youth and Community as part of its Hang 10 project and will offer various sporting activities.

These could be football, swing ball, badminton and Panna football skills – but youngsters attending will have a say on what they would like to do! The sessions are for children and young people aged from five up to 18, there’s no need to book and they are being held at the following locations:

Cllr Charlotte Zosseder, DDC’s cabinet member for community, said:

“We’re delighted to have received funding to provide these free multi-sport sessions which will benefit young people and their families in Dover.

“This initiative provides the opportunity for children and young people to take part in sporting activities they might not otherwise have access to.

“With the ongoing cost of living crisis, it’s more important than ever to create opportunities to empower our young people to try new things and take part in sports.”
