Two 17-year-old boys have been charged following a series of burglaries and car thefts across North and West Kent, police have confirmed.
The teenagers, one from Strood, Kent, and the other from Southend-on-Sea, Essex, are accused of targeting five addresses between March 1st and 11th, 2025. The incidents involved overnight burglaries where car keys were allegedly stolen after homes were subjected to untidy searches.
Vehicles subsequently reported stolen include a Mini Cooper from Beechings Way, Gillingham; a Volkswagen Golf from Shipbourne Road, Tonbridge; a Mercedes and a Honda Jazz from Maidstone Road, Rainham; and a Kia Picanto from London Road, Faversham.
In addition to the car thefts, an iPhone and iPad were stolen from a property near Walderslade Road, Rochester, and further items were taken from vehicles parked in Randolph Road, Rochester.
Police arrested the two suspects on March 11th. They have been charged with conspiracy to steal motor vehicles, conspiracy to commit burglaries, and theft from a motor vehicle.
The suspects have been remanded to custody pending a hearing at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 13 March.
