Cops investigate midnight handbag snatch in Folkestone: Man held

Kent Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was robbed on Clarence Street in Folkestone late Monday night. The incident, which reportedly occurred sometime around 11:30 pm on March 17th, saw the victim’s handbag snatched by a suspect.

According to police reports, the woman was walking along Clarence Street when the robbery took place. The stolen bag contained a debit card, a credit card, and cash. The victim sustained minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.

Following the incident, a 46-year-old man from Folkestone has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and is currently in police custody. Detectives are now urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or noticed anything suspicious in the area around that time to come forward.
