A dramatic police pursuit in Dartford on Tuesday evening culminated in the arrest of two men and the seizure of drugs and an arsenal of weapons.

Officers from Kent Police initiated the chase after spotting a suspicious vehicle in the Darenth Wood Road area at approximately 5:30 PM on March 25, 2025. The vehicle failed to stop when signalled, leading to a pursuit that ended on Bedford Road where the suspect vehicle collided with a police car. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.

Following the collision, a thorough search of the vehicle yielded a significant haul. Police recovered quantities of cannabis, cash, deal bags, and multiple mobile phones. More concerningly, officers also seized weapons including a hammer, chisel, and an extendable baton.

A 30-year-old man from Swanley was arrested on suspicion of a string of serious offences. These included assault, going equipped for theft, possession with intent to supply both class A and B drugs, criminal damage, and several driving offences.

A 27-year-old man from Dartford was also apprehended, and faces charges of assault, possession of an offensive weapon, possession with intent to supply a class B drug, and going equipped for theft. Both men were taken into custody and subsequently bailed pending further investigation. Kent Police are continuing their enquiries into the incident.
