A cocaine dealer has been permanently deprived of more than £35,000 in cash and designer goods seized from his home in Herne Bay. His assets will also be regularly reviewed, even after he is released from prison, to ensure the £101,725 he made from the harmful sale of class A drugs has been repaid in full.

Tom Wildish was arrested in Canterbury on 4 March 2024 after Kent Police officers spotted him selling drugs in the street. They then searched his home where they found bundles of banknotes stuffed inside a Louis Vuitton bag, as well as large quantities of cocaine, designer trainers and clothing.

Wildish, 42, who had no lawful income, was later charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of criminal property. He pleaded guilty and in May 2024 was sentenced to six years and four months’ imprisonment.

Afterwards financial investigators from Kent Police’s Proceeds of Crime Team continued to review Wildish’s assets and established he had earned £101,725 from his criminality, of which he was currently able to pay back £35,306 including from the cash and sale of the designer goods seized.

On 21 March 2025 at Canterbury Crown Court, a confiscation order was granted against Wildish meaning he must pay the amount within three months or have more prison time added to his sentence and still have to pay.

Detective Chief Inspector Helen Smithers said:

‘This is yet another great example of the fantastic work carried out by the Proceeds of Crime Team to ensure criminals like Tom Wildish are not allowed to enjoy the financial benefits of their illegal activities.

‘They will continue to regularly review his assets even after he is released from prison to ensure every penny of the £101,725 he made from the harmful sale of class A drugs has been paid back in full.’
