A play area is set to form part of Folkestone town centre’s new ‘green heart’ – and residents now have their say on preferred equipment.
The UK government-funded programme Folkestone – A Brighter Future will see a public park in Bouverie Square when the new bus stops are created along Shellons Street. Within it will be an area for play, which Creative Folkestone has been commissioned to deliver and a short survey about what it could include has now been launched.
Residents have just 10 days to complete it before 4pm on Monday 28 April by visiting folkestone-hythe.gov.uk/tcadventure. Alternatively, you can request a paper copy by calling 01303 853000 during office hours.
Those who attended the public engagement at Folkestone Town Hall last week have already had the opportunity to share their views on the play area and a virtual reality experience representing the finished scheme, produced for the events, will be viewable on Folkestone & Hythe District Council’s YouTube channel in the coming days.
Folkestone – A Brighter Future will provide a huge boost to the regeneration of the town centre. Work began on the scheme this week and is due to finish next summer.
