Police patrols in Medway have apprehended a suspected burglar in a Chatham alleyway following a report of stolen fishing equipment.
Officers responded to a call concerning a suspicious individual in the Keyes Avenue vicinity at approximately 11:45 PM on Monday. During checks behind local properties, authorities discovered fishing equipment and a toolbox on the ground. A suspect was subsequently located and taken into custody. Further investigation revealed that an outbuilding had reportedly been targeted.
A 45-year-old from Chatham has been charged with burglary and was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 16 April 2025.
