Diligent Police patrols have apprehended two people following a series of alleged burglaries in Gillingham.
The incidents reportedly began at approximately 6:45 am on Sunday, April 27th, 2025, when a man was seen attempting to open door handles at a home in Harrow Road. The individual then entered a van that had stopped further along the same street. It is alleged that items, including copper and a power tool, were subsequently stolen from two other properties in the vicinity.
Police were notified, and officers launched an investigation into the van’s movements. This led them to the Dartford area, where the vehicle was discovered parked and unoccupied on St Johns Road. Officers maintained observation of the vehicle and later arrested two suspects in connection with the incidents. Copper piping, electrical cables, and a Stihl chop saw were also recovered.
Two men, aged 20 and 25, have been charged with two counts of burglary, handling stolen property, and two counts of receiving stolen property. They appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, April 29th, and have been remanded in custody to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on Tuesday, May 27th.
