Three men have been arrested following an investigation into the supply of drugs and contraband into HMP Rochester, Kent Police reported.

Working with prison staff and the South East Regional Prison Intelligence Team, officers identified a group allegedly throwing illegal items, including Class A and B drugs, mobile phones, SIM cards, and chargers, over prison walls.

On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, police arrested three men, aged 42, 27, and 21, at addresses in Swanley and Orpington, seizing drugs and a knife. They have been bailed as the investigation continues.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Olivia Welch, said:

‘Prohibited articles in prisons undermine security and fuel serious crime and disorder both inside and outside the jail. We will continue to work closely with prison teams to identify, arrest and charge anyone suspected of being involved in this serious crime.’
