Two men have been charged with multiple burglary offences and other related crimes after a proactive police stop in Gravesham led to the discovery of suspected stolen power tools.

On the evening of Wednesday, May 7, 2025, patrol officers in Gravesend noticed a vehicle being driven suspiciously along Valley Drive. They signaled for the car to stop and subsequently followed it to Windsor Road, where the occupants were detained.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of various power tools and a generator, which investigators believe to be stolen. Further inquiries were conducted, leading to charges against two individuals.

On Thursday, May 8, 2025, a man aged 32, from Gravesend, and another local man aged 28 were charged with five burglary offences. These charges relate to incidents reported in the Shorne area between May 4 and 5, where equipment was allegedly stolen. Both men were also charged with theft and criminal damage. Additionally, the 32-year-old faces a charge of dangerous driving.

Both men were remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear before Sevenoaks magistrates on Friday, May 9.
