Ashford was buzzing with community spirit on Saturday, May 11th, 2025, as around 200 enthusiastic volunteers rolled up their sleeves for the annual community clean-up!

Led by the dedicated Mr. Nags Rai of the Sagarmatha Gurkha Nepalese Community Ashford Kent (SGNCAK), the day saw residents come together with a shared goal: to make their local area even better.

The initiative, aimed at fostering harmony and showcasing the Nepalese community’s commitment to Ashford, saw volunteers armed with litter-picking gear tackle Victoria Park. Amidst smiles and camaraderie, impressive piles of litter were collected and properly disposed of.

Key figures like Mr. Bhim Tumbahangfhe, President of the Gurkha Peace Foundation, and Mr. Dammar Limbu, SGNCAK chairperson, joined members of the Royal British Legion to witness the positive impact firsthand. Mr. Limbu warmly thanked Mr. Rai for his leadership and expressed gratitude to everyone who participated in the successful and heartwarming event.

It’s clear that when the community works together, great things happen! Well done, Ashford!
