Weapons and Drugs Found After Town Centre Car Chase

A ‘Rambo’ style knife and a baseball bat have been seized by police in Tunbridge Wells following a pursuit of a suspicious vehicle.

On Friday, May 16th, patrols in the town centre followed a Ford C-Max, which was subsequently stopped in Grosvenor Park. Officers from the Neighbourhood Task Force detained the driver, leading to searches that uncovered a knife, a metal baseball bat, a significant quantity of cannabis, and £120 in cash.

A 22-year-old man from the Wadhurst area has been charged with possessing a knife in a public place, possessing an offensive weapon, and possessing drugs with intent to supply. The individual was also charged with failing to stop a motor vehicle when directed by a police officer.

The accused was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court today, Monday, May 19th.
