Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious single-vehicle collision in Chislet near Canterbury last night.

It’s reported at approximately 10:55 PM on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, a white Volkswagen Golf travelling northbound on Sandpit Hill from Upstreet towards Chislet left the road. The vehicle veered onto the offside of the carriageway, partially entering a ditch before colliding with a tree.

Emergency services swiftly attended the scene. The driver, a woman in her 20s, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a London hospital, where her condition remains critical.

Officers from the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) have launched an investigation into the incident. They are urging anyone who witnessed the collision itself or saw the white VW Golf prior to the incident to come forward.
