A 66-year-old man from Swanscombe has been charged with multiple child sex offences spanning several decades.

The man, from Swanscombe, Kent, appeared in court following an investigation by Kent Police into allegations of historic child sexual abuse.

Detectives confirmed they received reports this year concerning incidents alleged to have occurred between the 1970s and the 2000s, where a number of children were reportedly targeted.

A man was arrested on Thursday, May 15th, and subsequently charged with sexual assault and taking indecent photographs. The accused appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, May 17th, and was remanded in custody. He is scheduled to appear at Woolwich Crown Court for a further hearing on Friday, June 13th.

Investigators are continuing their enquiries and are appealing to anyone who may have information that could assist them, to call the appeal line.
