Kent Police is seeking the public’s assistance following the theft of two military memorial plaques from the grounds of Christ Church on Luton Road in Luton, Chatham.
The incident is reported to have occurred between 10pm on Friday, May 23rd, and 10pm on Saturday, May 24th, 2025.
Investigators are urging anyone with information regarding the missing plaques to come forward to help in their recovery.
Investigating officer, PC Alanya Spiller, said:
‘These memorials to those who gave their lives during the First World War have been in place at the church lychgate for over a hundred years. Their loss has had a considerable impact on the local community, and we are appealing to anyone who may be able to assist our enquiries to contact us.’
Residents with private CCTV and motorists with dashcam are also asked to check for relevant footage.
