Detectives are appealing for dashcam and CCTV footage following the robbery of a pensioner in Istead Rise, near Gravesend, during which his vehicle was stolen.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:05 am on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, on Walnut Hill Road. The victim, a man in his 80s, was driving his red Citroen Synergie when he stopped to remove a log obstructing the road. He was then reportedly assaulted by four men.

The elderly victim sustained a facial cut and bruising. It is alleged that some of the assailants then fled the scene in his red Citroen Synergie, which was later recovered on Downs Road.

Authorities are particularly interested in locating one of the suspects who was seen leaving the area on a red bicycle, wearing black clothing and carrying a black rucksack. This individual reportedly travelled towards New Barn via Nurstead Lane and Main Road.

Police are urging motorists with dashcam footage and residents with CCTV in the vicinity who may have captured the cyclist between 7:00 am and 7:30 am to come forward.
