The search of the River Thames at Gravesend is ongoing for a missing girl, Kent Police have confirmed.

Officers were called to Royal Pier Road at 1.46pm yesterday, Friday 30th May 2025, following concerns raised by the Port of London Authority regarding the welfare of two children who had entered the river.

Emergency services, including Kent Police, H.M. Coastguard, the RNLI, and South East Coast Ambulance Service, swiftly responded to the scene. A boy was successfully retrieved from the water and taken to a local hospital. His condition has been described as not life-threatening.

However, a search continues for a girl who remains missing. Kent Police’s Marine Unit and H.M. Coastguard are currently conducting an extensive search of the river and its banks.

Anyone with information that may assist the search is urged to contact Kent Police.
