Two men who attempted to evade a police patrol earlier this year in Canterbury have been sentenced to jail for drug dealing offences. Their arrests on March 1, 2025, led to the discovery of Class A drugs, a significant amount of cash, and a mobile phone used to orchestrate drug sales.

Charlie Golding, 21, formerly of Sturry, received a sentence of three and a half years at Canterbury Crown Court on May 30. His accomplice, Alfie Bean, 20, of no fixed address, was jailed for two years and nine months.

The pair were apprehended when officers in the Kingsmead area noticed a car seemingly trying to avoid their patrol. After stopping the vehicle and searching its occupants, police found a stash of Class A drugs, a bundle of cash, and a Nokia phone believed to be central to their drug operations.

Both Golding and Bean later pleaded guilty to charges, including involvement in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine.
